Nitric Oxide: The Molecule Of Life (PDF)
by Erin Zamzow, DVM

Nitric oxide is a simple molecule, not to be confused with nitrous oxide, an anesthetic gas. Nitric oxide is generated from the conversion of arginine to citrulline in the body and for our purposes, will be referred to as arginine-derived nitric oxide or ADNO. This process occurs in neurons, blood vessel walls, muscles and certain white blood cells. Nitric oxide is essential in cardiovascular health, fighting infections, wound healing, and overall immune system function and homeostasis. (learn more about nitric oxide)

The body continually produces nitric oxide but the natural production of nitric oxide decreases in the body with stress, infection, injury and age. Continuous nitric oxide depletion limits the body's ability to respond in the face of injury and disease.
The exciting news is that there is a way to influence the production of nitric oxide. VivoAnimals has the key to production of healthy levels of ADNO. VivoAnimals' unique nutraceutical formulations are designed to target specific physiologic systems to enhance the body's ability to respond using its own innate mechanisms. By administering low levels of arginine combined with additional amino acids and synergistic nutrients in a unique delivery system, VivoAnimals' formulations are able to get ADNO production going where it is most needed.
VivoAnimals' nitric oxide formulas provide the body with nutritional support to stimulate appropriate physiological responses to many conditions.
VivoVital - Superior general health maintenance. Nitric oxide (N-O) is a key molecule in the body that is responsible for circulation. When it is depleted due to aging, injury, stress or anti inflammatory substances or medications, the body's health and healing abilities are compromised. VivoVital stimulates the body to increase its own nitric oxide production and the substantial health benefits make this product stand alone. Outstanding for increased vitality, endurance, heart health, recovery from competition, and general health and maintenance.
VivoBodyMend - Nutritional support for increasing the body's healing abilities while utilizing nitric oxide pathways. This increases circulation, and enhances collagen production for faster, cleaner tissue repair. Excellent for encouraging healing after traumatic injuries and surgery.
VivoDefend - Nutritional support specifically formulated to stimulate and increase the body's immune system. VivoDefend increases nitric oxide production while helping to fight bacteria, viruses and certain pathogens.
VivoGI - Nutritional support for the entire GI tract. Increases blood flow, while also stimulating production of necessary mucus to coat and soothe the stomach and colon. This aids in proper digestion and absorption, and increases appetite. Excellent for dogs and cats with GI upset, anorexia, or ulcers from illness, stress, or heavy NSAID use.
VivoGlucoBalance - Comprehensive nutritional support for carbohydrate metabolism. Increases nitric oxide production for greater circulatory benefits while nutritionally supporting the pancreas and kidneys. Specifically formulated for dogs and cats suffering from diabetes.
VivoJointEZ - Nutritional support for our pets suffering from arthritis. This very unique and highly successful formula does not contain any of the commonly used anti-inflammatory substances like glucosamine or NSAIDs. VivoJointEZ utilizes nitric oxide pathways for increased blood flow, while targeting inflammation with a proprietary blend utilizing four Australian herbs. Do not use this formula with any other anti-inflammatory drug or substance.
All the above formulas must be given with no food for 1 hour before and 1 hour after each dose. For best results, your pet should not be on any nitric oxide inhibiting substances. Glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, MSM, bosweilia, cats claw, devils claw, yucca, and any Rx drug classified as an NSAID will inhibit the bodies ability to formulate and or utilize the nitric oxide molecule. Nitric oxide is the key link to success with all the above formulas. For more specific information on usage of nitric oxide formulas, please see our FAQs.
